A passionate approach – Trainer, Ian McCabe
Word is quickly spreading about the motivational skills of Ian McCabe. Personal Injury Prevention is the name of his game and he plays hands-on with expertise and passion. Ian intentionally sets out to impact lives and create a new level of awareness about safety and risk on and off the job.
Ian McCabe is the sole owner of Safety and Communications Training, which provides a variety of on-site safety and training services, including observation, supervisor development, coaching and incorporation of personal injury prevention themes into the orientation process. He implements and delivers injury prevention training, provides necessary resources and presents a strategy for rolling the courses out to your workers.
Ian McCabe is from Aberdeen, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1990. He is the son of a roofer and went to work at construction sites with his father as a boy. Ian recalls foundries, slate roofing and sawmills from that time.
Work began on the North Sea as the youngest service supervisor for the reputable oilfield services company Schlumberger. He spent more than half his working life as a supervisor or manager for the company including training diverse groups in the Middle East, Indonesia, Venezuela and the USA. This progressed to specializing in many health and safety positions across North America. Ian has never suffered an LTI.
Since 2010, Ian’s Safety and Communications Training has provided services to many companies in Canada and the US. He continues to make improvements, invigorating his injury prevention materials and developing practical follow-up methods for his HSE peers. Effective communication strategies are incorporated to improve work performance. And by all accounts, Ian McCabe reaches, teaches and produces immediate results.
Ian is happiest when delivering his unique, engaging style of safety training to audiences, whether in a classroom, at a plant, construction site, rig, manufacturing shop or yard.
